Just before sunrise, as the land starts to warm, the mist rolls off of the land and onto the sea off the Pembrokeshire coast. Taken on the same morning as Pembrokeshire coast dawn when waiting for some colour in the skies from the sunrise, which didn’t materialise.
It was fortunate that the coastline was swathed in mist to create this moody image, perfect for a monochrome version highlighting the shapes and forms in the mist. Later on the mist would be burned off by the rising sun, but for this short moment, it added an air of mystery to the dramatic coastline. This square format focusses they eye in on the details in the mist, free of distraction of the remainder of the full image.
