On the north eastern edge of the Shropshire hills area of outstanding natural beauty, The Lawley (left most) catches the light from the early morning sun. The Shropshire hills raise up rapidly from the low lying surrounding area as you get close to the Welsh border. This often overlooked area of England has some stunning and dramatic scenery.
Taken on the morning of my recent blog post (Up before the lark) as I decended Caer Caradoc – stopping very frequently to try to find another angle to shoot this range from. I love this shot because it is close enough to isolate The Lawley, but from a high enough angle to look down onto the hill from above whilst keeping the distant Wreckin above the horizon to make it stand out a little more in the early morning mist.
